At Rs 22,999, the Le Max 2 offers superb features and has the distinction of being the first phone to come with USB Type C audio port.
Le Max 2 was announced for the Indian market some time back. It is currently available for registration and its first flash sale will be held at 2 PM on 28 June. So you have time until 1 PM of June 28 to register for the phone. It can be purchased from both Flipkart and Le Mall.
The Le Max 2 certainly packs a punch and widely applauded for its features. To start with, the Le Max 2 comes with a huge 5.7-inch touchscreen with superb Quad HD resolution. It is powered by the 2.15 GHz Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor and 6GB RAM. It has 64GB internal storage. The smartphone too runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and has a 3,100 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
There is a 21-megapixel shooter in the back panel of Le Max 2 along with a dual-tone LED flashlight. For selfies, it comes with an 8-megapixel front camera. Further, the smartphone offers Dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and a fingerprint sensor on the back. The Le Max 2 comes in Rose Gold and Grey colour options.
Initially, I was apprehensive that the Le Max 2 would be too big to handle as it has a huge display and an equally big battery. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see a lean device which certainly isn't that intimidating as it seems. It felt like a 5-inch device. But the credit goes to LeEco's engineers. They have certainly done a great job in keeping the weight and dimension in check. It feels very light and the metal body gives it an aristocratic look.
The big rear camera bump and thin bezel on right and left-hand side of the display gives it a distinct look. The iconic mirror-finished fingerprint scanner is just below the rear camera unit. The stylish LeEco logo is engraved on the back of the display. A dual tone LED flashlight is beside the rear camera.
Note that it is the first Android phone (along with its younger cousin the Le 2) to come with a USB Type C audio port which is located at the bottom of the phone and is flanked by two speaker grills. A single tray carrying two SIM slots is located on the left-hand side while on the right there are power and volume keys. An infrared sensor is at the top. Just above the display lies a tiny speaker grill, the front camera and the proximity sensor.
All in all, I liked the design of the phone but will tell you my final views later in its detailed review.
Also, here I won't be able to pass a judgement on the performance of the phone but it is most likely to offer an ultra-smooth performance owing to huge 6 GB RAM and the high-end processor. I have also high hopes from its battery and cameras.
