Today InFocus lunched a new smartphone, InFocus M680, for Rs 10,999. It is a budget smartphone and we have been using it for the last two weeks. Here is our review of the InFocus M680.

InFocus M680 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and 2GB RAM. The device has 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to maximum of 64GB via a microSD card.

On the camera front, the M680 has a 13 megapixel front and rear camera. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and supports 4G connectivity. Apart from that it has regular connectivity options. InFocus M680 has a 2,600mAh battery unit and supports dual SIM, though one SIM slot is a hybrid one.

InFocus M680 has a plastic back panel but it looks like metal. The sides are made of metal. It is easy to hold and its looks good. Like most of the previous smartphones of Infocus, this one too has curved edges.

The brand name of inFocus is embossed on both front and back panels in a very aesthetic manner. The InFocus M680 is a dual SIM smartphone but one of the SIM slots is a hybrid one. This means it will either support two nano SIMs or one nano SIM and a micro SD card.

The 3.5 mm audio jack is at the top while the micro USB port is at the bottom. The volume and power keys are located on the left and right side panels respectively. The speaker grill is in the bottom panel besides the micro USB port.

In the back panel the camera lens, which is surrounded by a chrome ring, and an LED flash light are placed in the top right corner. Due do the raised chrome ring, the lens is protected against minor scratches when the device is placed on its back. The noise cancellation mic is placed in the top panel.

Overall the phone looks good is one the best designed budget smartphones.

The InFocus M680 has a 5.5 inch display with full high definition (1920x1080 pixels) resolution. The display has decent touch response and at maximum brightness you can use it even in bright outdoors.

The InFocus M680 has the Mediatek MT6753 chipset that comes with a 64-bit, octa core 1.5 GHz processor and 2 GB RAM. The phone is also based on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. During my usage, I never faced any issue during multitasking or while playing high end games like Dead Trigger.

The M680 has also good storage facility - 16 GB internal memory and another 64 GB can be added through a micro SD card.

The phone has a 2600 mAh battery that offers good backup. Heavy users on a single charger can get around 10-12 hours of backup.

The InFocus M680 has a 13 megapixel auto focus rear and front. The front camera comes with HDR option. Besides, there is a face beauty mode for the front camera. The rear camera has few more options like motion track mode, live photo mode, panorama, face beauty, and multi angle view. As is evident from the name itself, the motion track mode is meant to capture pictures of moving objects; actually in this mode the camera goes into the burst mode and captures several pictures so that the user can select few pictures with perfect pose. The multi angle view mode is nothing but a GIF mode which certainly would be loved by many.

InFocus M680

Both the front and rear cameras capture detailed and vibrant pictures in good lighting condition but in low lighting both are found wanting.

If you are looking for a budget smartphone, then the InFocus M680 is worth considering. Its camera is better than that of InFocus M808. As far the processing power is concerned, it is smooth and offers glitch free performance. If looks like InFocus has put a lot of focus in getting thing device right.
