Vibe Shot has a glass and metal design that gives it an aristocratic look and feel but makes it quite slippery.
Lenovo Vibe Shot is touted as the first dedicated camera smartphone of Lenovo. The phone offers a 16 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation. There is a triple-LED flash light in its back panel as well. In the front, the phone has an 8 megapixel camera. The phone also comes with a manual mode.
The Lenovo Vibe Shot has a 5 inch touchscreen with full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixels) and comes with latest Android Lollipop operating system. It is powered by the Snapdragon 615 octa core processor and huge 3 GB RAM. It offers plenty of storage as well - 32 GB internal and 128 GB of expandable memory.
The Lenovo Vibe Shot has two nano SIM slots with dual standby feature and 4G connectivity. It has GPS/A-GPS, dual band WiFi with Hotspot, micro USB 2.0 port, and Bluetooth 4.1. There is a decent 2900 mAh Li-Po battery in the device as well.
But most importantly, the Lenovo Vibe Shot is priced at just Rs 25,499 at which there are several other smartphones which also claim to have powerful cameras.
Here we have analysed the features and performance of the Vibe Shot.
Lenovo, be its tablets or phones are concerned, has always managed to do something different. The Vibe Shot too looks a bit different from the crowd squarely due to the horizontal patch in the back panel that makes it look like a point and shoot camera.
The Vibe Shot has a glass and metal design that gives it an aristocratic look and feel but makes it quite slippery. Thankfully, Lenovo is offering a transparent cover for the phone which offers a good grip without hampering its look much.
The Vibe Shot has a unibody structure. There is a SIM tray in its left hand side which has space for two micro SIMs. In the left hand side, there is a micro SD card tray as well. In the right hand side, apart from the usual volume rocker and power button, lies a key to quickly launch the camera. There is a toggle switch as well that allows switching from Pro to Auto camera mode.
The Lenovo Vibe Shot has a beautiful 5 inch display. The touchscreen has superb full high definition resolution, thus offering huge 400 ppi pixel density and I am sure you will like watching movies and games on this phone. The screen is also quite sensitive to touches. Also, the screen has high brightness levels with which you can easily use outdoors.
With 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa core processor and huge 3 GB RAM, the Lenovo Vibe Shot handles several apps at a time with ease and has no problem whatsoever in playing high end games like Nova 3.
The smartphone comes with the Android Lollipop version and like other Lenovo devices it has a customised interface called as Vibe UI. The interface is clean and simple. App icons look decent and visually appealing.
It has plenty of storage as well – 32 GB internal and 128 GB expandable. It also comes with USB OTG functionality so you can directly use a pen drive with the Vibe Shot using an OTG cable.
Connectivity wise too, the Lenovo Vibe Shot is quite rich with dual SIM, 4G connectivity, micro USB port, Bluetooth 4.1, and WiFi Hotspot. However, the Vibe Shot despite being a new age device comes with WiFi (b/g/n) version and not the advanced WiFi (ac) which is faster and is common to most new age mid-range and high end devices.
Lenovo has also fitted a mic in the Vibe Shot for noise cancellation. Most of the times, I could hear the callers loud and clear (ofcourse I too encountered call drops but that were probably the fault of telecos).
The Lenovo Vibe Shot has also loud volume levels and comes with a decent pair of earphones. It has FM radio as well.
The Vibe Shot has a 3000 mAh Li-Po battery which managed to offer a day's back up with ease even with round the clock internet connectivity. Like all new age devices, it comes with power saving feature and an app that show which apps consumes power the most.
This is ofcourse the USP of the phone and most of you perhaps will either buy it just for its camera capabilities.
The Lenovo Vibe Shot, as I said earlier, has a 16 megapixel rear camera which comes with infrared auto focus, 6 piece lens, optical image stablisation, and a BSI sensor. And the rear camera, true to its potential, captured superb pictures. It was quick to focus and always offered steady shots. With 16 megapixel resolution, you will have plenty of resolution in your hand to further edit the images. The lens itself is quite potent for low light scenarios and there is even three LED flash lights that offers ample light for darker areas.
The phone has a physical camera button as well to quickly launch the camera. Just press and hold the button to launch the camera but it takes a bit of time to open which negates its purpose altogether.
Another highlight of Vibe Shot is its professional mode for which there is a dedicated toggle button on the side panel as well. In professional mode, you can change the ISO values and white balance. In pro mode, there are also some cool effects like panorama, wide selfies (for front camera), artistic HDR modes, Blur effect and some cool light effect like citi traffic etc.
For selfies also there is an 8 megapixel camera that allows you to record full HD videos. You can take selfies in 16:9 or 4:3 or 1:1 mode. There is an Ultra HD mode (8 MP in 4:3 mode and 6 MP in 16:9 mode) for front camera as well, note that the selfie camera by default is set at 5 MP resolution. In pro mode, you can take wide selfies (like that of panorama shots). The rear camera is also quick and manages to reproduce sharp pictures with true colours.
