Like Xiaomi Mi 4i it is powerful, and has a unique eye-catching style statement.

  • Powerful, easily handles high end games/multitasking
  • Good looks
  • Good battery back up
  • Average front and rear cameras
  • Back Cover isn't scratch proof

The InFocus M810, priced at Rs 14,999, is a 6.99 mm thin smartphone that comes with a metal frame that encases its 5.5 inch full HD screen. This InFocus M810 has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Android Lollipop operating system and a custom user interface called Inlife UI. It is equipped with a 13 megapixel main camera with a true tone LED flash and a 5 MP front camera. The device comes with a 16 GB internal memory which is expandable to 64 GB and 2 GB RAM. It is available in gold color.

Design and Display

The design is undoubtedly one of the pluses of InFocus M810.The glass back panel that glitters under light due to its pattern design make it an eye candy and is a unique to this device only. The glass back cover has got an anti-fingerprint coating, so don't worry about smudges. However, the rear panel isn't immune to scratches.

The M810's power button comes in 'watch crown' design, mostly seen in Sony's smartphones. The volume rocker's design is also unique and is easy to use. On the left-hand side lies the lone SIM slot alongside the micro SD card slot.

The metallic side panel comes in matte finish and thus allows gripping the phone well.

InFocus M810

The 5.5 inch display of InFocus M810 has got the necessary full high definition resolution (1080p) and has decent brightness as well. Though it is not clear whether this display has any scratch resistant glass or not, but throughout the review we never found any scratches on the display. But I will advise you to use a protective cover.

The InFocus M810 is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera that has Sony CMOS sensor and F2.2 aperture. It comes integrated with iCatch independent image processing engine. In the front, there is a 5 megapixel selfie shooter.

Both the cameras are decent but not the best in its price segment. The rear camera is able to produce colours but doesn't capture enough detail to let users crop the pictures. The fixed focus front camera makes everything a bit darker.

InFocus M810

So though it has the same numbers as its competitors like Moto G 3rd Gen, Xiaomi Mi 4i (13 MP rear + 5 MP front), InFocus M810 isn't in the same league; we haven't tested the Moto G 3rd Gen but you can see Mi4i's review here here.

The M810 has a 2600 mAh lithium-ion battery and it offers superb battery life. During our review, I used to keep data 24/7 (either WiFi or 3G) along with Bluetooth and performed usual activities like few minutes of calling, gaming and reading ebooks for about an hour, and constantly checking messages and few other apps. But despite that I never had to charge it before 12 hours.

InFocus M810

Ofcourse heavy users will have lesser back up but it still provides the best backup in its price segment.

OS and Processing Power

The InFocus M810 is quite powerful thanks to its 2.5GHz MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 quad core processor, which is considered as one of the best processors available. On top of that it has 2 GB of RAM. The combination works well and I managed to play 'Frontline Commando: WW2', Overkill 3 and GT Racing 2. Multitasking isn't an issue either (however don't think that it will have no problem running 10-12 apps at a time; infact no phone can handle a dozen of heavy apps at a time).

Connectivity and Memory

The InFocus M810 has just one SIM card slot and if offers 4G-LTE connectivity. If you don't have 4G, you can always use 3G. There is WiFi, Bluetooth, micro USB port and a 3.5 mm jack as well like all Android phones have.

I never faced any issue vis-a-vis calling, internet or Bluetooth. The phone also comes with GPS for navigation.

InFocus has so far launched some competitive devices in India like the InFocus M350, M330 and M2. The InFocus M810 doesn't blemish the reputation of the company at all. Inspite of the fact that there are Moto G 3rd Gen and Xiaomi Mi 4i in the same price segment, we have no qualms in saying that the InFocus M810 is a good alternative in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment.
