Xiaomi Mi 6 might never come to India

The device was recently unveiled in China and has received an overwhelming response hitting over 1 million pre-registrations in one weeks time.

Xiaomi Mi 6 which was launched last week in China and received a tremendous response with over 1 million registrations already, might never come to India. As per India TodayTech, the Xiaomi Mi 6 won’t be launching in India at all. Well, this contradicts our previous report of Xiaomi Mi 6 launching in India at the end of May for Rs 26,999.

The report further adds that the Xiaomi might launch Mi Mix 2 or the Mi Note 3, this time around. Interestingly, both the Mi Mix and Mi Note 2 never launched in India after they were unveiled in China last year and given the fact that Mi Mix 2 and the Mi Note 3 have not been launched in China as well (spotted online via various leaks and rumours surfacing online), we are highly skeptical about Xiaomi launching the device in time in India.

This is because, Xiaomi doesn’t have the best of timelines for product launches in India. For the reference, last year’s Xiaomi Mi5 which was launched last year in February was made available in India in April for Rs 24,999, but only through Mi official website. The device was then rolled out to other channels such as Amazon, Flipkart etc. in June 2016 which is almost 4 months after the global launch. Currently, the phone retails at Rs 22,999 via online sellers.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a four-sided 3D glass design and features a 5.15-inch Full (1080p) display. The Mi 6 has glass on the front and back with a stainless steel frame in between. It is powered by a latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 64 bit octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz, which is clubbed with Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with MIUI 8 on top of it. The fingerprint scanner is placed in the front under the glass. Xiaomi Mi 6 is also splash-resistant, with the SIM tray also sealed against splashes.

Xioami Mi 6 get its strength from a 3350mAh battery which is coupled with MIUI optimisations which enable the Mi 6 to last up to a full day. On the camera front, the Mi 6 comes with the dual camera set up two 12-megapixel rear cameras. One camera has a lens with 4-axis Optical Image stabilisation and another 12-megapixel telephoto camera for 2x lossless zoom. On its front, it has an 8-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calling. For connectivity, this smartphone supports network with VoLTE and offers Dual SIM, Dual speakers, WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n), 4.2, GPS/ A-GLONASS, NFC and USB-Type C. Xiaomi has ditched the 3.5mm jack on the Mi 6. The Mi 6 comes with 2.2 dual WiFi technology which allows for better and wider connectivity.
