Samsung had deferred the launch of Note 7 in India following the discovery of a battery issue in the phablet
Samsung is reportedly planning to launch its Galaxy Note 7 in India on the same day when Apple will launch its iPhone 7 in India – October 7.
Samsung unveiled the Note 7 on August 3 and it received good reviews after its launch in several counties. But soon a grave manufacturing defect was found in Note 7 following incidents of blasts during charging reported from various parts of the world. Many airlines had banned flyers from using the phone on board as well and Samsung was forced to recall the phone and deferred its launch in many counties including India.
It was a big setback for Samsung but now the South Korean handset maker seems to be trying hard to make up for the lost ground. In India, the best thing Samsung could do is to launch the Note 7 before or on the same day of launch of Apple iPhone 7.
And as per reports, Samsung could price Note 7 very aggressively to gain consumers attention.
However, these are just speculations. Samsung is yet to announce anything about the Note 7's launch in India.
The Galaxy Note 7 will be available with Octa-Core Exynos 8890 (quad 2.3GHz + quad 1.6GHz) processor in all markets except USA where it will be available with Quad Core Snapdragon 820 processor. However, both versions have 4GB RAM. The smartphone comes preinstalled with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with the latest TouchWiz UI on top and a 3500 mAh battery with fast charging technology on both wired and wireless charging modes. It has a USB Type C port.
The Galaxy Note 7 has 64 GB of internal storage and you can use a micro SD card of up to 256 GB in its expandable storage slot. Note that it has a hybrid dual SIM slot which means if you use a micro SD card, you have to forgo the SIM2.
It has a fingerprint sensor as well as an Iris scanner. Besides, the phablet offers Samsung's Knox security app. Apart from this, the device also features barometer, gyro, geomagnetic, proximity, and ambient light sensors.
The smartphone boasts a 12-megapixel autofocus rear camera that comes with dual pixel technology, LED flash, PDAF, optical image stabilisation, and f/1.7 aperture. A 5-megapixel front facing camera with f/1.7 aperture is there in the Note 7 for selfies and video calling. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS with AGS/GLONASS, NFC and USB type C. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 measures 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9mm and it weighs 169 grams.
