RCom users in six states can now surf 33 websites including Facebook for free

Facebook and Reliance Communications have announced a new app, Internet.org, via which RCom users in six states can have free access to 33 websites.

Facebook and Reliance Communication today announced the launch of the Internet.org in India using which Rcom users in six states can have access to 33 websites for free.

The facility is available for Reliance customers in six Indian states – Tamil Nadu, Mahararashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, and Telangana.

Reliance customers in India can access these services in the Internet.org app, at www.internet.org, from the start screen of the Opera Mini mobile web browser, and using the Android app UC for Internet.org. Most of the services will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati and Marathi.

Prominent websites which are available for free surfing include Wikipedia, Wikihow, Facebook, Aaj Tak, AccuWeather, BBC News, Bing Search, Cleartrip, Daily Bhaskar, Dictionary.com, ESPN Cricinfo, IBNLive, India Today, UCWeb, Times of India etc.

Internet.org is a Facebook-led initiative with the goal of making affordable internet access available to the two thirds of the world who are not yet connected and to bring the same opportunities to everyone that the connected third of the world has today. The goal of Internet.org echoes with UC Browser’s commitment to help billions of users around the world to enjoy mobile internet services.
