Panasonic has launched an affordable smartphone, named as Panasonic T50, in India at Rs 4,990. It will be available across all online and retail partners. The smartphone comes in rose gold, champagne gold, and midnight blue colour options.

The Panasonic T50 smartphone runs on 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system with company’s newly introduced SAIL user interface on top it. “The user interface offers various features like switching between multiple apps, organize apps by genre, control onscreen operations with gestures, enhanced visual layout and improved folder management for easy access,” the company said in a press release.

The T50 has a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480 x854p) display. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, which is clubbed with 1GB of and is backed up by a 1600 battery. The Panasonic T50 offers 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up-to 32GB via a micro SD card. The smartphone is armed with a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash and a 2-megapixel front camera. Further, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, 3G, WiFi (802.11b/g/n), 4.0, GPS, Proximity sensor, ALS & Accelerometer. The handset measures 131.7 x 66.3 x 8.8 mm.

Commenting on the launch, Pankaj Rana, business head, mobility division, Panasonic India, said, “Our latest introduction in the Indian market is a novelty because it arrives with the launch of Panasonic’s in-house software, the SAIL user interface. The is even integrated into a specialized SAIL camera. It is an app-driven smartphone which combines 3G connectivity and multi-app smoothness for a flawless user experience in a handheld device.”
