Recently we had reported that OnePlus is expected to launch a new smartphone in mid on next year. Seems like these rumours were partially true as a new leak on Chinese social network Weibo has surfaced online now which has claimed that the OnePlus 4 may be launched in June – July 2017. Furthermore, the leak reveals that the OnePlus 4 may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor.
We believe that the rumour will come out to be true considering the fact that the OnePlus always launch its flagship smartphones during the summers. OnePlus had also launched OnePlus 3 in June this year. The same source states that the OnePlus 4 will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 830 SoC, which could be the same powering Samsung’s Galaxy S8. Note that Snapdragon 830 is yet to be released and it is expected to be much more powerful than the current Snapdragon 820.
OnePlus 4 may come with 8GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM, which is quite common now for flagships. A 23-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front camera is expected in OnePlus 4 which is quite likely considering that OnePlus 3 has 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front shooter. The device is expected to be clocked at 3GHz coupled with an Adreno 620 GPU. The phone is expected to be running Android Nougat and backed by a 4000 mAh battery.
However, it is hard to believe that the OnePlus 4 will come with an expandable storage slot for 256 GB capacity as we didn’t get one in the current OnePlus flagship. Perhaps, OnePlus may go Apple’s way and bring a 256 GB internal storage variant of its next flagship. Meanwhile, reports claimed that the phone will have an Optic AMOLED display. Moving forward, with Android Nougat just released, the OnePlus 4 will definitely have the latest Android software unless something dramatic happens.
The OnePlus 4 is expected mid next year but some are assuming its price at around $400 (approximately Rs 26,809). These are just speculations and the actual product might be way too different. Till the time actual launch happens leaks will be abuzz.
