Now pay and receive money via Paytm without an internet connection

Paytm is India's largest e-wallet service which has further upped its business post demonetization.

Taking the full advantage of recent demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, Paytm has today announced a toll-free number 1800-1800-1234 which will allow users, both consumers, and merchants, to pay and receive money instantly without any internet connection. Promoting the idea of cashless transactions, this will also work for mobile recharges. In other words, one can now pay and receive money via Paytm without accessing the itself.

To benefit out of this service, users first need to register with Paytm with their respective mobile numbers and set a 4-digit Paytm PIN. Next, after calling on the above-mentioned Toll-Free number, a user then needs to enter recipient’s mobile number, amount and their Paytm to transfer the money from sender’s Paytm wallet to recipient’s Paytm wallet.

A couple of days back, Paytm announced that it will merge it’s wallet business with payments bank. If you are still not aware, Paytm is India’s largest mobile payment and commerce platform. In other words, Paytm is an e-wallet service through which you can send, receive money instantly apart from various other payments such as mobile recharge, electricity bill, data card, DTH etc. Paytm claims that there are over one million offline merchants across India that accept Paytm as prefered payment option. Paytm is accepted everywhere including taxis, autos, petrol pumps, grocery shops, restaurants, coffee shops, multiplexes, parking, pharmacies, hospitals, kirana shops and at various other locations. Paytm can also be used to pay for services like recharges and bill payments, utility payments, movie tickets, travel bookings, food ordering and shopping.
