Meizu has scheduled an event on February 15 and has already started sending out the media invites for the event. Though the invite does not say anything about the name of the device to be launched, but we expect it to be the much rumoured Meizu M5S smartphone.
The event is all set to take place at Beijing Performing Arts Center, China on February 15 at 15:00, China time which is 12:30 PM IST. The teaser also highlights the fact that the smartphone will come with Fast charging technology which has been revealed in previous leaks.
Just yesterday, Meizu M5S specs, price and retail packaging leaked online on the Chinese microblogging website, Weibo. The leaked images reveal not only the design of the smartphone but also show off its retail packaging box. Some of the specifications details written on it, revealed the name of the device as Meizu M5S (written in Chinese). The charger kept inside the packaging also shows the Meizu brand written on it.
As per the leak, the details include 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage. It will be powered by Flyme OS along with Meizu mCharge fast charging technology. The device will support Dual SIM functionality with dual Standby support and LTE connectivity. Furthermore, the Meizu M5S is listed with a higher pricing of 1,299 Yuan (approximately Rs 12,729). Interestingly, the leaked price is different from the price which was leaked earlier.
Prior to that, the device was leaked in images on the website which showed a physical home button on the front of the device. The home button is also touted to equip a fingerprint sensor. Further, recently, a leaked document surfaced online revealed some of the details about the smartphone. Apart from that, the pricing of the device was also leaked online.
As per earlier leaks, the Meizu M5S is expected to come with a 5.2-inch IPS display as well as dual SIM with dual Standby support. It will be powered by a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor. The device will also come with Meizu mCharge fast charging technology, as well as Meizu’s mTouch fingerprint identification technology.
The smartphone is said to come in three variants- 2GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage, 3GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage. It will be featuring a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The smartphone will run on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Flyme OS 6.0 backed up by a 2,930mAh battery.
