Honor 6X and V8 coming soon to India, Magic not ruled out

Honor, sub-brand of Huawei, which has been steadily launching smartphones in India will add two more devices, Honor 6X and V8, to its portfolio in quarter one of 2017. Also, indications are there that Honor Magic, which was launched two back-back in China, will also hit the Indian shores.

George Zhao, President Honor, Huawei, said to The Mobile Indian, “India is a very important market for us and we are committed to bringing the best in smartphone arena over there at regular intervals. We will quite soon launch Honor 6X and Honor V8 in India but as on now, I don’t have any timelines. Expect something exciting from us in Q1, 2107.”

He further added, “We have just launched Honor Magic in China and don’t rule out its availability for the Indian market in near future. We will be taking to our ecosystem partners like Google and Facebook to chalk out a plan to customise it for the Indian audience.”

As of not it is not clear, what will be the specs of the honor 6X which will be launched in India but in China it is available in three variants- one with 3GB and 32 GB of internal storage at 999 Yuan, another with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage at 1299 Yuan, while the third one has 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and it costs 1599 Yuan.

The Honor 6X available in China boasts a metal unibody and a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by a Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 655 (4 x 2.1GHz + 4 x 1.7GHz) processor, along with Mali T830-MP2 and can hold up-to a 128 GB micro SD card in its expandable storage slot. The smartphone runs on 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and has the Huawei Emotion 4.1 (EMUI) user interface. A 3340 mAh battery is inside the phone.

It also houses a dual rear camera setup which includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor with Flash, PDAF and a secondary 2-megapixel sensor. In its front lies an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video chat. Besides, a LED flash and a fingerprint scanner are also on its back panel just below the camera setup. Besides, the smartphone offers Hybrid Dual SIM, with VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), 4.1 and GPS. The handset measures 150.9 x 72.6 x 8.2 mm and weighs around 162 grams.

On the other hand, Honor V8 has two 12 megapixel rear cameras both of which come with f/2.2 aperture. There are two LED flashlights on the back panel as well. For selfies, the phone offers an 8-megapixel front camera. In China, it comes with 5.7 inch display and QHD display variants. It has 2.5GHz Kirin 950 octa-core processor, Mali-T880 GPU, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage.

The V8 also offers a fingerprint sensor and comes fitted with a 3500 mAh non-removable battery. This dual SIM smartphone has 4G connectivity and promises superior voice calling with VoLTE technology. Besides, it offers WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, and a USB port.

In China, it is priced at CNY 2,299 (about Rs 23,500) for the 4GB RAM + 32GB model, CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs 25,500) for 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant and CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs 28,600) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variant with QHD display.

The latest device from Huawei’s stable, Honor Magic smartphone, which has been launched in China at 3,699 yuan (Rs 36,000 approx) just two days back in may come to India in ner future is am interesting concept device. The highlight of the smartphone is its intelligent and a layer of AI-based software that can perform specific tasks.

As far as specifications go, Honor Magic features a 5.06-inch AMOLED screen with a of 2560 x 1440 pixels at 577ppi. It features a curved design and 3D glass covers. The home button in Honor Magic doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. Honor Magic is powered by an octa-core Huawei Kirin 950 processor clocked at 2.3GHz with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

Honor Magic sports a 12MP dual rear camera with f/2.2 and an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone is backed by a 2,900mAh non-removable battery. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Honor Magic Live. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, Micro USB 2.0, GPS, AGPS, and BeiDou Navigation Satellite System.
