Google is rolling out v3.0 for its new chat messenger app, Allo. The new update brings in chat themes, smart smiley and stickers from the upcoming film “Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them”.
Late last month, Google rolled out v2.0 which brought in a bunch of changes such as App shortcuts, Quick Reply (Android N), GIF keyboard, Multi-window support (Android N) etc.
As mentioned before, the new update brings in a bunch of new features including the new chat themes which will entirely change the layout of your chat window. Interestingly, this feature was already hidden in v2.0 code but one could only access it with root privileges.
Another feature which has been added is ‘Smart Smiley’ which can be accessed with a new button located just next to the Send button. So now just like suggested replies, Allo will also suggest you emojis. This feature has come to light after Google claimed that users use only 3% of the available 1000 emojis.
Lastly, there are these new stickers for “Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them” movie fans. Most of the stickers are of characters from the film.
Back in September, when Google first launched it, we did a first impressions of Allo. Check it out here.
Google Allo didn’t get much response, Thanks to giants like Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger’s constant important updates to suppress any new feature showcased on Allo.
