Through this new plan, the company is offering unlimited local and STD calls to any network over a period of one month.
Telecom operators like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea are already battling the so-called "price war" by offering free voice calling and bundled data at nominal prices. Joining with bandwagon is state-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd or BSNL, with a new Rs 144 plan for its customers to combat Reliance Jio free voice calls and data services.
Through this new plan, the company is offering unlimited local and STD calls to any network over a period of one month. Users will also be getting 300MB of free data usage during the same tenure and the plan is available for both prepaid and postpaid customers.
Recently, the company had announced two unlimited calling packs priced at Rs 99 and Rs 339 in order to give a stiff competition to other telecom operators. Under the Rs 99 pack, users will get free BSNL to BSNL calling for local and STD calls along with a 300MB of data usage. However, the offer is limited to certain circles in namely Kolkata TD, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Gujarat, MP, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra and Rajasthan. In all other circles, the price of this pack is Rs 119 to Rs 149. The offer is valid up to 28 days.
Coming to the Rs 339 pack, users will be able to make unlimited local and STD calls from BSNL to any networks along with 1GB of data valid up to 28 days. The offer is valid in the above mentioned same circles as the Rs 99 packs and in other circles, the price will be considerably higher.
