Asus has today launched its flagship gaming smartphone – Asus ROG Phone 2 in India. The smartphone comes in two variants – 8GB RAM + 128GB storage priced at Rs 37,999 and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage is priced at Rs 59,999. The 8GB variant will come with 18W charger and AeroCase while the 12GB RAM with 512GB storage variant will come with 30W fast charger and AeroActive Cooler II in the box.
The smartphone comes loaded with a new design language coupled with some top-of-the-line specifications. The 8GB variant will be available on Flipkart starting September 30 in the Big Billion sale. However, the company has not announced any sale date of the premium variant with 12GB RAM.
The company has also announced the price of various accessories. The Asus ROG 30W Charger is priced at Rs 1,999, AeroActive Cooler II is priced at Rs 3999, Professional Dock at Rs 5499, Lighting Armored case at Rs 2,999, Twin View Dock II for Rs 19,999, Mobile Desktop Dock for Rs 12,999 and ROG Kunai Gamepad is priced at Rs 9,999.
For the launch offers, there is 10 percent instant discount on using ICICI bank credit cards, and an equivalent discount for orders using Axis bank credit and debit cards. There is also no-cost EMI planfor a period of 6 months.
Asus ROG Phone 2 is backed by a 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels along with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The gaming phone features 120Hz Refresh Rate and 240Hz response time along with 108 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut. The display also features 100,000:1 contrast ratio along with Delta E. There is a side-mounted connector through which one can attach different gaming accessories to the gaming smartphone.
For the photography, the phone is loaded with a dual-camera setup, which comes with a combination of 48-megapixel primary lens along with a 13-megapixel Wide-Angle lens with a 125-degree field of view. For the front, the company has added a 24-megapixel selfie shooter. There is dual front-facing stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra. The smartphone also comes with a dedicated ultrasonic AirTriggers with faster haptic response rate and vibration Latency of 20ms, and you no longer have to raise your fingers before tapping.
The phone measures 170.99x 77.6x 9.78mm and weigh 240 grams. It is powered by 2.96GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus Processor along with Adreno 640 GPU coupled with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and 12GB RAM + 512GB UFS 3.0 storage options. It comes with an optical under-display fingerprint scanner.
Asus ROG Phone 2 runs on Android 9.0 Pie, which is based on ROG UI and it is backed by a 6000mAh battery with 30W HyperCharge fast charging technology. On the connectivity front, it supports WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth V 5.0 ( EDR + A2DP), GPS(L1+L5), GLO, BDS, GAL(E1+E5a), QZSS(L1+L5), USB Type-C port, 3.5mm Audio Jack and Dual-SIM support.
