As a part of network upgrade, the company has combined the spectrum capacities of two 5MHz carriers in the 2100 band, which will help improve the quality of the network around the region. In simple terms, users will able to enjoy 4G-like data speed on a network along with better voice quality and improved network coverage, while the users will get a significant boost in the voice quality and better network receptions. But mind you, one will only get 4G-like speed and to enjoy the features of a 4G network, one has to upgrade.

The new technology will also help in optimising the backend engagement between the network and mobile devices, which will further extend the battery life on a smartphone. The ongoing initiative is a part of Project Leap, which is company’s aspirational project for improving network quality and delivering the best customer experience. However, this feature is only limited to Delhi-NCR circle, but we might expect it to be rolled out in different circles in coming months.
