Ativ S, which is Samsung's first Windows Phone 8 smartphone, is expected soon in India as two major online stores have already listed it as coming soon.
Samsung's first Windows Phone 8 smartphone called Ativ S is likely to be launched in India soon as two major online retailers in the country - Ezoneonline and Infibeam - has listed it as coming soon.
The phone features a 4.8-inch HD Super Amoled display and houses a 1.5 GHz dual-core mobile processor coupled with 1 GB RAM. This Windows Phone 8 smartphone also features Near Field Communications chip and also a memory expansion slot.
Samsung has said that it will make Ativ S available after Microsoft officially announces the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. Microsoft announcement is slated for October 26th.
The Samsung ATIV S features a brushed aluminium chassis. The display has been manufactured using Corning Gorilla Glass 2 technology for greater strength and slimmer screen size.
At the back lies an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash. This camera is capable of recording 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second easily. In the front lies a 1.9 megapixel camera with capability to perform video calls and chat. Samsung also claims that Ativ S can easily playback 1080p HD videos.
By default, the ATIV S will have Samsung ChatOn instant messaging service built in along with other Samsung Hubs (Music and Media). Some default apps will include Photo Editor, Mini Diary and app called Now for Daily Briefing.
Samsung will offer a distinct sharing feature, called Family Store, along with NFC, Bluetooth and WiFi with Tap+Send. The Ativ S also features Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi with WiFi Direct and WiFi Channel Bonding, accelerometer, gyroscopic sensor, geomagnetic sensor, proximity sensor, and the Near Field Communication support.
For location based services, Samsung has implemented GPS with A-GPS support and also GLONASS network support for more accurate position locking on the maps. By default, this smartphone will be offered in 16 GB or 32 GB on-board storage versions and there is a micro SD card slot to accommodate up to 32 GB card. Weighing just 125 grams, Samsung Ativ S has a 2300 mAh Li-ion battery.
The pricing has not been announced by the websites listing it, Samsung has also given no indication on pricing, however Ativ S is comparable in features with Galaxy SIII and therefore price is expected to be in the similar league.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 8.0 has been spotted on the website of Chinese certification agency TENAA.
Other A series devices launched are Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) is SM-A310 and the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) is SM-A510.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Advanced has a 10.1-inch display that has (1280x800 pixels) resolution and 5 finger gesture support.
The upcoming Note 6 is expected to have a 5.8-inch display against the 5.7-inch screen of its predecessors.
Earlier the same device had been spotted on the Indian import-export website Zauba as well.
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) will be launched by carrier KT and will be available in two colours - black and gold color.
As per rumours, the this year's Samsung flaghship is also likely to bring better camera features, 6 GB RAM.
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) was spotted on Samsung's Spain website for €299 (approximately Rs 22,383).
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 Value Edition is a rugged and water-resistant smartphone which runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
Samsung Galaxy C5 SM-C5000 has a 5.5-inch display that has full HD (1920x1080 pixels) resolution.
