Global consumer electronics and mobile device manufacturer, Samsung has announced the launch of two of its latest feature phones under the Star series. The two new feature phones, named as Star 3 and Star 3 Duos, aims to provide rich social networking and multimedia experience at an affordable price.
Both Star 3 and Star 3 Duos feature Samsung's proprietary operating system integrated with TouchWiz Lite interface that offers better usability and functionality. Both the handsets have 3 inch TFT LCD display that comes in VGA">QVGA (320 x 240 pixel) resolution with a capacitive touch based input.
Both the new Samsung mobile phones come with 3.2 megapixel fixed focus camera as well. The Star 3 Duos features a dual SIM based system that allows users to use two different connections at the same time. Both the devices are 11.5 mm thick that makes them stylish as well as easier to carry and flaunt.
The Star 3 and Star 3 Duos come preinstalled with Samsung's ChatON application that enables users to sign-in without ID or password to send personalised multimedia messages, group chat, and buddy management to fellow ChatOn users. It also allows users to access Push Instant Messenger capabilities via ChatON through various instant messaging services like MSN, Yahoo, and Google Talk. Also, both the Star 3 and Star 3 Duos phones are natively integrated with Facebook, Twitter and push email services allowing them to stay connected on the go or through integrated WiFi while at home or office.
"We are pleased to launch the Star 3 and Star 3 Duos, a further enhanced version of the bestselling Samsung Star series. With the new Star 3 touch phones, Samsung continues to offer the best social networking experiences and opportunities for our feature phone users,” said JK Shin, president of IT and mobile communications division at Samsung Electronics.
The devices will be made available globally in a phased manner with deliveries starting with CIS countries (like Russia, Kazakhstan etc), Europe, Latin America, Africa, Middle East, and Southeast Asia by the end of January 2012.
Thus Star 3 and Star 3 Duos are expected to reach Indian shores by this February and pricing options will only be revealed once the shipping of devices commences.
