This move from Reliance Communications resembles a lot to Jio's tariff plan and doesn't bound users to buy a 4G enabled smartphone.
Reliance Communications today launched a new bucket plan today at Rs 149 in which one will get unlimited outgoing calling coupled with 300 MB across all the networks in India.
The new unlimited plan is set to change the dynamics of mobile recharges in India, as customers move away from a traditional revenue per minute tariff model to a service subscription model based on ARPU - said RCom co-CEO, Gurdeep Singh.
Reliance Jio had that one corn that it could only be used on a 4G enabled smartphone. And while we admit that 4G enabled smartphones are available quite easily these days yet there a lot of people still using 3G smartphones and RCom seems to target those people with its cheap tariff offering.
Reliance Jio recently started doorstep delivery for Jio SIMs in Delhi (NCR) and Mumbai. Even though the net traction towards the telecom network has reduced dramatically, still people uses the new revolutionary Jio as their secondary SIM.
Reliance Communications has also announced offers for new pre-paid customers with a new SIM as a 'welcome offer'.
Smartcare on Twitter enables Reliance mobile phone customers to manage their user account by simply using their Twitter account login.
The new plans take away the necessity to recharge repeatedly, and bring in ease-of-use to RCom customers.
Customers can simply dial *129# and avail exclusive offers across data, voice, talk-time and SMS services.
All major operators have slashed their roaming SMS rates by up to 75 per cent and call rates by up to 40 per cent.
Facebook and Reliance Communications have announced a new app, Internet.org, via which RCom users in six states can have free access to 33 websites.
In the first phase, Rcom has rolled out the service in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune.
In July this year, RCom had slashed prices of its 3G data but it did not spur a data war among operators.
As per RCom, it allows Reliance customers to save up to 84 per cent on voice calls and 98 per cent on data usage.
It can be availed by both prepaid and postpaid users of RCom.
