Google Play Music Update: A new homescreen and machine learning

The update will be rolled out this week in 62 countries.

Back in September 2016, Google released its Play Music service in India and now the search engine giant has introduced a new update which brings in a new interface combined with machine learning technology.

The update will be rolled out this week for Android, iOS and Web users in 62 countries to be exact. Unfortunately, India didn't make it to this list though we hope Google won't take long to introduce the update.

This new update brings in new card interface which can be seen in other services like Google Now. Talking about the machine learning, Google Play Music would detect your location and suggest songs based on it. Not only the location, it can also track your activity or even detect the weather around you for better song recommendations. One has to opt-in for these contextual tools in order to get customized preferences. For instance, the moment you enter your gym (based on location detection) the app will start recommending you workout playlist or songs.

"Building on our commitment to help you find the right music for any moment, today we're introducing the new Google Play Music - a fresh take on our music streaming service that is smarter, easier to use, and much more assistive." - quoted Elias Roman, Lead Product Manager, Google Play Music.

Lastly, the new update also introduces a new homescreen which is customizable. It also enables offline playback feature which works on cache of songs played recently.
