Another feature called 'See More' links is also been tested but is only available for some verified users.
In the latest update, Instagram has added features like Boomerang and Mentions to Instagram Stories as well. Up till now, Boomerang was a separate app on PlayStore/Appstore and one could only use Mentions in posts and comments.
With the latest update both the Boomerang and Mentions are integrated to 'Stories' itself so you don't need to got to a separate menu. Also up till now, you only use Boomerang for Instagram posts and not Stories. For those who are not aware, Boomerang is fun little feature for Instagram where it takes photos in burst mode to make a short video out of it which it plays back and forth.
To use Boomerang in 'Stories' you will first need to download the app 'Boomerang for Instagram' from Appstore. After that, opening up the Stories Camera will display a new Boomerang option which can be accessed by just swiping right.
Mentions on the other hand works the same way as in comments and posts. Just type '@' followed by the username of the user you want to mention in your Story. The username will appear in your story underlined, tapping which will open up the profile of that person. Further, the person being mentioned will get a notification in 'Direct' windows as well.
The famous photo sharing app is also testing a feature called 'See More' which will appear on viewing someone's Story. 'See More' links can get you to a specific link or an article related to that profile.
These updates are available on Instagram 9.7 for iOS, Android and Windows 10. However, the 'See More' feature is only available for some verified accounts and is still in testing mode.
In a recent blog post, Instagram has announced that after testing out the feature with a small number of users, the company will now roll out the update to everyone in the coming weeks.
The feature lets you post Stories (Pictures, videos, texts, emojis) which will disappear after 24 hours.
