Today, a new report have popped up revealing Samsung plans to test out first round of prototypes in January. The South Korean giant is expected to order the first batches of parts early next year to eventually assemble it and test the first phase of prototypes. Moving forward, the company will further send out even big orders by February if it plans to begin the mass production in March implying a tentative April launch.
After the Note 7 fiasco, Samsung cannot afford to play another gamble in terms of quality so the Galaxy S8 is likely to witness a delayed launch next year.
Another rumour which has recently made news is about Samsung going with 5.1 inch Quad HD display with 90 percent screen to body ratio. The S8 is also likely to sport iris scanner. Interestingly, Samsung might enter the dual-camera set up industry with the new S8. The cameras are expected to be a 12 megapixel and 13 megapixel sensors with no information about their functionality.
Up till now, Dual Cameras have been used for various added functionality such as using second sensor for depth sensing (HTC One M8), for optical focusing (LG, Apple), for low-light photography (Huawei P9).
Summing up previous rumours), Samsung is reportedly working on a new Artificial Intelligence powered Virtual Assistant which will be integrated into the new S8. Further, reports about S8 housing an optical fingerprint scanner also came recently which was eventually denied by Android Authority, revealing that the S8 might in fact come with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Other specifications include 6GB of RAM, Exynos 8895 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 chipsets and USB-C audio instead of a 3.5mm headphone jack.
