Google Play Store enables Net Banking on the Playstore for App purchase, more

Google has partnered with 38 Banks to enable Net Banking service on the Playstore in India, finally bringing an extra level of convenience to the store.

For those of you who shop a lot from Google Play Store, the search engine giant has announced the inclusion of 'Net Banking' as a payment option in India. Previously, purchases were limited to Debit/Credit cards or Redemptions on gift cards.Net Banking comes in handy for those who don't keep their Debit/Credit cards with them all the time, besides early users who simply don't have cards. Figures at mass usage sites like the Indian railways IRCTC also lend support to the move , as a significant number of users at IRCTC use net banking over other options like cards and wallets.

Recently, Google released a report saying that people in India are likely to pay for digital content after which the Net Banking option has finally been added.

The update is said to be rolled out via server and will slowly reach to your device. As of now, Google has partnered with 38 Banks to enable the Net Banking service in India including Axis Bank, Citibank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bank of India etc.

In order to check if the option has been enables to your device, Swipe left on the main menu > Account > Payment Methods > Net Banking. After this fill in your details if you haven't before and check if your Bank is there in the list.

Else, you can straight away jump to the app you want to purchase and check if Net Banking option is available. If it's there then you should know the drill if you are a regular Net Banking user.

Its good to see Google taking key measures to enhance user experience in India. Earlier this year we saw how Google Team in India managed to get 'Google Now' in Hindi which is being advertised a lot these days over the internet.
