Apple MacBook prices increased by Rs 10,000

Just last week Apple introduced the new MacBook Pro lineup with TouchBar and Touch ID functionality.

While everyone had their eyes on the newly announced MacBook Pro, Apple silently increased the prices of MacBook lineup in India. The 12-inch MacBook is now selling for Rs 112,900 which is Rs 6,000 more than the price quoted in last October and faster processor variant with double the SSD of 512GB now sells at Rs 139,900 which is Rs 10,000 more than the previous price.

Interestingly, the prices on the US website are not changed so Apple seems to have increased prices only in India as of now.

Back in April 2016, Apple introduced the new MacBook with Intel Skylake processor with faster RAM and PCIe-based flash storage. Similar to iPhone, Apple also introduced the new Rose Gold colour variant to the MacBook line up. Apple discontinued the 11-inch MacBook Air and the 13-inch variant will be discontinued in near future as well.

Just last week Apple introduced the new MacBook Pro lineup with TouchBar and Touch ID functionality at its 'Hello Again' event in San Francisco. Though the Touch Bar definitely adds a lot of functionality, Apple replaced all the existing ports with USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 ports which mean that now you need an adapter even to connect an iPhone to your new MacBook Pro.

In the other news, the newly launched iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are facing stock shortages as the demand for both the devices increase. Though the smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 7 is still available on some online platforms, the bigger variant i.e. the iPhone 7 Plus seems to be out of stock literally everywhere.
