Recently, Motorola released a statement saying that some of its devices won't get the security updates.
Motorola yesterday revealed the list of devices which would receive Android 7.0 Nougat update. Unfortunately, it seems the recently launched Moto E3 power is not supposed to receive the update. Shockingly, Moto E3 Power is not even a month older.
According to the list that has been released Moto G (4th Gen), Moto G Plus (4th Gen), Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid and Nexus 6 will get the Android 7.0 Nougat update.
Recently, Motorola had also released another statement saying that some of its devices won't get the security updates. The reason for this as claimed by Motorola was increasing Moto smartphones in a budget segment, which seems a bit strange.
The Moto E3 Power comes with smudge proof screen and water repellent nano coating. It features a 5-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS display and is powered by a 1.0GHz quad-core Mediatek (MTK6735) processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable upto 128GB via micro SD card. The smartphone comes packed with 3500 mAh battery. The Moto E3 Power runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The phone has an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera, a rear LED flashlight and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video chats. Besides, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, 4G/LTE, WiFi, GPS, a micro USB port, and a Rear ported speaker (1W).
Moto E3 Power though decently designed still offers mediocre specifications at a price point of Rs 7,999. With the competitors like Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, it was already hard for Moto E3 Power to stand in the budget segment. On top of this, the confirmation of Motorola's decision to not update the Moto E3 Power has only added further difficulties. Lenovo is certainly not taking Motorola in a right direction.
The device is tipped to be Motorola's first smartphone having the fingerprint scanner at the back. Leaks support that claim.
The update has been confirmed by Motorola on its official website on India.
Moto M will be the first Motorola smartphone to feature a fingerprint scanner at the back.
'Soak Test' is where only a small set of users get the update and if no major issues are reported by these users then the particular update is rolled out to every one.
Its been a while since Motorola released a phone in X series and this might be the right time for it as well.
Both the smartphones will be available for purchase after 11:59PM. Moto Z and Moto Z Play will be available on Amazon and Flipkart at Rs 39,999 and Rs 24,999 respectively.
Motorola Moto Z and Moto G4 will be the first smartphones to receive the Nougat update.
Motorola claimed to have sold 100,000 units of Moto E3 Power in previous sale.
Company might launch Moto Z Force as well, along with Moto Z smartphone.
As per a report the Motorola Moto M Plus would be exclusive to Asian markets.
