Micromax was supposed to launch its new Canvas series smartphone - the Canvas HD A116 - this week but now its retail availability has been delayed.
"Micromax Canvas HD A116 will be available in the market in next 20 days. The delay in availability is because of logistic issue," a spokesperson of the company told The Mobile Indian.
Micromax Canvas HD A116 is expected to be priced below Rs 15,000. It comes with 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and 1 GB of RAM. There is 4 GB of internal storage which is expandable to up to 32 through a micro SD card.
Besides, Canvas HD A116 has a huge 5 inch display and it comes with dual cameras as well including an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front unit. Moreover, it has support for 3G, WiFi 802.11 (b/g/n), Bluetooth, and GPS/A-GPS. However it has only a 2100 mAh battery.
Interestingly, predecessor of Canvas HD A116, Micromax Canvas 2 is in huge demand as it is selling more than 8,000 per day and is almost sold out in online retail stores. Apart from that even the prices of Canvas 2 have been jacked up as now it is selling for around Rs 12,000 instead of Rs 9,999.
