Micromax was supposed to launch its new Canvas series smartphone - the Canvas HD A116 - this week but now its retail availability has been delayed.
"Micromax Canvas HD A116 will be available in the market in next 20 days. The delay in availability is because of logistic issue," a spokesperson of the company told The Mobile Indian.
Micromax Canvas HD A116 is expected to be priced below Rs 15,000. It comes with 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and 1 GB of RAM. There is 4 GB of internal storage which is expandable to up to 32 through a micro SD card.
Besides, Canvas HD A116 has a huge 5 inch display and it comes with dual cameras as well including an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front unit. Moreover, it has support for 3G, WiFi 802.11 (b/g/n), Bluetooth, and GPS/A-GPS. However it has only a 2100 mAh battery.
Interestingly, predecessor of Canvas HD A116, Micromax Canvas 2 is in huge demand as it is selling more than 8,000 per day and is almost sold out in online retail stores. Apart from that even the prices of Canvas 2 have been jacked up as now it is selling for around Rs 12,000 instead of Rs 9,999.
As per the report, Micromax is developing a new OS based on the Android platform and products based on the new OS may be launched by the end of this financial year.
While Selfie 2 offers a 5 MP camera both in the front and rear panel, the Selfie 3 has 8 MP camera in both ends.
Priced at Rs 5,999, the new Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 is the cheapest phone to have an octa core processor.
Till date, Micromax has launched three Doodle series smartphones - Canvas Doodle A111, Doodle 2 A240 and Doodle 3 A102.
There is no information about its price yet but looking at its configuration, it is all likely to be a low-cost smartphone.
Micromax has apparently taken a dig at the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 2 in a teaser.
The only task Micromax Joy X1800 and Micromax Joy are expected to perform smoothly are calling and SMSing.
In all likelihood, Micromax Bolt A066 is going to be a cheaper version of Bolt A065.
The Micromax Canvas Hue has decent features including a huge 3000 mAh battery and quad core processor.
This chiseled metallic body clad budget smartphone offers decent features but nothing that would make it distinguishable in the crowded handset market.
