Lenovo owned Motorola has announced the launch of Moto Z as well as Moto Z Play in India today at Rs 39,999 and Rs 24,999 respectively. The two phones will be launched along with famous Moto Mods - JBL Soundboost speaker, Hasselblad True Zoom Camera, Insta share projector and Incipio Off grid power pack but these mods will cost you some extra bucks. Some style shells for the phones will also be available (check the picture below). Note that the Moto Z and Z Play will be available from 17th October, 11.59 pm onwards on Amazon.in and Flipkart.
The Moto Z comes with LG G5 like modular concept. They have 16 pins on their back panel using which you can attach three types of modules (mods) - a JBL module for better sound output, a battery module or a projector called as Moto Insta-Share Projecto. There are also Style Shells made of premium materials like real wood and leather, or a patterned fabric.
The Moto Z is made of military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel. This 5.2 mm thin has a 5.5 inch AMOLED screen that has Quad HD (2560x1440 pixels) resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB RAM. A 2600 mAh battery is inside this phone that promises upto 24 hours of battery back up on mixed usage and ofcours it has Turbo charging facility.
The Moto Z offers a 13 megapixel rear camera that has F1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, laser auto focus, 8x digital zoom,4K video recording ability, slow motion video recording feature, professional and a host of other camera features expected from a high end phone like this. Two LED flash lights are also there in the phone.
The Moto Z comes in 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage versions but in the Motorola India page only the 64 GB model is mentioned. Both versions have 2 TB micro SD card slot.
The Moto Z has a water repelling coating. Besides, it has NFC and fingerprint sensor. A 5 megapixel camera is in its front and it comes with wide angle lens, F2.2 aperture, professional and beauty modes. A flash light is also in the front for low light selfies.
The dual SIM Moto Z has NFC, fingerprint reader, 4G connectivity, AGPS, USB Type C port, WiFi (ac), front loaded speakers, 4 mics, 3.5 mm jack and a host of sensors – accelerometer, gyroscope, hall effect, magnetometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
Moto Z Play comes with an aluminum frame and glass back. Moto Z Play promises up to 45 hours of battery life and is said to be Moto's longest-lasting battery ever. It has TurboPower charging feature that claims to charge it up to 8 hours in just 15 minutes.
Moto Z Play also offers a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor (Snapdragon 625), 5.5 inch 1080p Super AMOLED display and 3GB RAM of memory (LPDDR3 RAM). It has a 16MP laser autofocus camera that has laser auto focus, f2.0 aperture, 1.3 um pixel size, 4x digital zoom, burst mode, auto HDR, 4K video recording ability, slow motion video recording feature, and professional mode. A 5 megapixel camera with f2.2 aperture, 85 degree wide angle lens, flash light, professional mode, beauty mode and auto night mode is in its front.
The Moto Z Play has 32 GB of internal storage as well as an expandable storage slot for up to a 2 TB micro SD card. This 6.99 mm thin smartphone has water repelling coating on its body. This dual SIM smartphone has Bluetooth 4.0 LE, WiFi (a/b/g/n), NFC, AGPS, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, and a fingerprint scanner. It comes with Moto Mod connectors, USB Type C port, 3.5 mm port, 3 mics, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity, and audio monitor.
Moto G4 Play doesn't have as good specs as some other phones in the price range but with Motorola brand, it may become a bestseller.
On paper, Redmi 3S Prime certainly looks better with an extra GB RAM, better processor and massive battery. But one has to note the difference between the Android skins.
The Moto G4 Plus has been launched in two versions - one with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal at Rs 13,499 and another with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of ROM at Rs 14,999.
Moto 360 Sport is water and dust resistant and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.
The normal Moto G Turbo is available for just Rs 12,499.
Motorola Moto X Play is still a good handset but Vibe X3 has few extra features.
While Motorola Moto X Force promises a crack-proof display, the Z5 Premium offers a 4K display – the first and still the only smartphone to offer such a screen.

Motorola Moto G Turbo can be purchased from Flipkart from today itself.
Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE601KL is bigger and probably a bit faster but Motorola Moto X Play seems to be the winner in this face off.
