Just yesterday, Qualcomm announced its latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 821.
Asus today announced the launch of a new variant of Zenfone 3 Deluxe with 6GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The new variant is also the first smartphone to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.
As per Qualcomm, Snapdragon 821 is 10 per cent faster than the Snapdragon 820 which powers some of the most advanced smartphones that includes Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, Xiaomi Mi5, LG G5, HTC 10, LeEco LeMax 2, and Sony Xperia X. So the Zenfone 3 Deluxe with Snapdragon 821 and 6 GB RAM is expected to top the benchmarking charts.
Asus revealed the new smartphone while announcing the launch of its Zenfone 3 series phones in Taiwan. All the phones of this series - Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe (4GB and 6 GB) and Zenfone 3 Ultra - will now available for pre-booking in Taiwan and will be shipped after July 29.
The Zenfone 3 is priced at NTD 7,990, $248 or approximately Rs 16,660. The Zenfone Ultra has a price tag of NTD 17,990, $558 or Rs 37,520 approximately. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe is priced at NTD 17,990, $558 or Rs 37,520 approximately for the 4GB of RAM plus 64GB internal storage variant that comes with Snapdragon 820 whereas Zenfone 3 Deluxe Snapdragon 821 version is priced at NTD 24,990, $775 or Rs 52,090 approximately. The variant of Zenfone 3 Deluxe with 4GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage and Snapdragon 820 is priced at NTD 15,990, $496 or approximately Rs 33,345.
The Zenfone 3 comes in gold, blue, black, and white colours. It has Corning Gorilla Glass coating on both front and back panels while an aluminium frame protects its internals. The Zenfone 3 has a 5.5-inch LCD screen, a Snapdragon 625 processor, a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, a 3000 mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor, USB-C 2.0 port, 4GB RAM, and an expandable storage slot that can hold a micro SD card of up to 64GB.
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra have metal unibody. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe has been announced in grey, silver, and gold colours. It has a slightly bigger 5.7-inch 1080p OLED touchscreen, a 23-megapixel rear camera, and USB-C 3.0 port.
The Zenfone 3 Ultra has a huge 6.8-inch LCD screen that comes with full HD resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor and 4GB RAM. It too has a 23-megapixel rear camera, USB-C 3.0 port but comes with a bigger 4,600 mAh battery. The Zenfone 3 Ultra comes in grey, silver and pink colours.
The ZenBook 3 will be available starting November 27th across all Asus Exclusive Stories, offline and online retailers.
The smartphone comes with powerful 4,100 mAh non-removable battery.
The Asus gaming notebooks have VR-Ready Nvidia Pascal GeForce GTX 10 series graphics card.
The ZenBook Flip UX360CA is the first ZenBook model to feature a 360° hinge with a flippable display in India.
Asus's Zenfone 3 laser and Lenovo Vibe Shot are tough competitors and it's very tough to declare a winner.
Both the ZenBook 3 and Transformer 3 Pro come with Intel Core i7 processor and Windows 10 OS.
The Zenfone 3 will be available from today itself while others will hit the stores next month.
There is a 2GB+16GB and 3GB+32GB Asus Zenfone Selfie models which are available from Flipkart.
Asus also unveiled its latest ROG Strix GL502, a compact 15.6-inch gaming laptop with a 4K display.
Both the devices boast of USB type C connectivity.
