Despite its dirt cheap price tag, Ringing Bells's Freedom 251 offers decent features.
Ringing Bells has literally ringed the bell in India as it announced to launch a smartphone for just Rs 251.
Also despite its 'dirt cheap' price tag, the phone offers decent features that include the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system as well as a 1.3 GHz quad core processor. The phone has a 4 inch IPS touchscreen as well that has WVGA (800x480 pixels) resolution.
The phone, which is named as Freedom 251, also offers 8 GB of internal memory and 1 GB RAM which was unexpected for a phone priced so cheap. On top of that the Ringing Bells Freedom 251 offers a 1450 mAh battery. It also has a 3.2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera.
The Freedom 251 has two SIM slots and offers 3G connectivity as well. As per Ringing Bells, it has over 650 services centres all over India. It is also offering one year warranty on Freedom 251.
The phone will be unveiled later today in an event which is to be held today evening. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is said to be unveiling the phone. Bookings for the phone will start from February 18 and 6 AM and will be available for booking till February 21 till 8 PM.
Though the quality of the phone is still debatable but at just a price tag, one couldn't ask for anything more for sure.
However, the TV will be available after July 30.
Ringing Bells introduced two new smartphones called Elegant and Elegance which are priced Rs 3,999 onwards.
