If you think cost, it is. Most android apps are free compared to iPhone apps. But as Apple is strict to approve iPhone apps, quality is a point to consider. Also as Android app market is kind of open, there are few hidden spywares inside some apps.

The Android Market may still lag behind the iPhone App Store in terms of variety and quality, but there is something to be said for the Android operating system’s extremely tight integration with existing Google products, and the wide choice of devices and carriers. there is no question about the iphone apps but ther are some android apps which will drop your iphone -google voice, openhome, nesoid, google finance and many more.

iphone apps are a lot better then android apps..Apple has a commanding lead over all other smart phone platforms with 230,000 and counting in the App Store. But Google's Android platform now claims 70,000. There may be a big difference between the two, but it's not felt in all categories. But Android suffers in other ways. Because the OS is freely available to anyone who builds hardware, carriers sell Android phones with a variety of screen sizes and processor speeds.

Both iphone and android must have the apps which are basic necessity. Though I should suggest android to be the better choice because around 60% of android apps are free, android being open source. But over 70% iapps are paid. Ios is closed source. Apple does not include many settings or customization options and therefore android apps have an upper hand. Android is undergoing fresh development almost everyday and capabilities are rising. Anyone can mould anything out of android. Though iphone has over 3lakh apps compared to only 2.5 lakh apps for android. But places to download i phone apps are quite scarce. Android apps and stores are ubiquitous. Many game sites offer android apps, gameloft, xda etc. Lots of websites are now featuring android apps. It was only yesterday that i saw the new android opera 6.1. So over all android rocks

While not all apps look better on iOS than on Android, the conventional wisdom says that most do. Screenshots of popular apps can confirm it. The primary reason many apps look better on iOS is because developers need only build an app for a few screen sizes. On Android, a platform that supports various screen sizes and resolutions, building great-looking yet dynamic apps is much more difficult. Developer Nikolai Sander wrote, "Trying to get the UI to look right on the Android platform is a trial and error process, and with trial, I mean you try it on all possible device resolutions and encounter mostly errors." Or maybe it's because developers are just making a ton more money on developing for iOS. Here are some of our favorite examples, iPhone app at left and Android app at right.
