LeEco Le 1s vs Lenovo A7000 Turbo

On paper, Le 1s outmatches Lenovo A7000 Turbo in all departments.

LeEco entered the Indian market yesterday with three handsets – the Le 1s, Le Max and Le Max Sapphire. The Le 1s is the cheapest among them with a price tag of Rs 10,999. Le 1s has several good opponents including the Lenovo A7000 Turbo.

So let’s see how the Lenovo A7000 Turbo and Le 1s fare against each other.

Design

The LeEco Le 1s comes with an ‘aviation grade aluminium’ unibody. As per the company, it has a screw-less industrial design. With almost zero bezel, the phone look gorgeous from the front. The back panel has a mirror-surfaced fingerprint sensor – another highlight of the phone. In terms of figures, the LeEco Le 1s measures 151.1 x 74.2 x 7.6 mm and weighs 169 grams.

The Lenovo A7000 Turbo, in terms of looks, is slightly dull. It seems like a repackaged K3 Note, with a plastic body. It is slim and measures 152.6 x 76.2 x 8 mm, while weighing 150 grams.

Without any doubt, Le 1S looks much better than the Turbo.

Display

The Lenovo A7000 Turbo has a 5.5 inch full IPS display, which results in a of 401 ppi. The LeEco Le 1s too has a 5.5 inch full HD IPS display. Neither of the phones seems to have any sort of screen protection.

Processor & Memory

The LeEco Le 1s is armed with the octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 Turbo processor, clocked at 2.2 GHz. The phone runs with 3 GB, and has 32 of internal storage (non-expandable).

The Lenovo A7000 Turbo is armed with a MediaTek MT6752 octa-core processor, clocked at 1.7 GHz, and 2 GB of RAM. The Lenovo A7000 Turbo has 16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by another 32 GB via a micro card.

The LeEco Le 1s is armed with MediaTek’s flagship processor, and also has an extra 1 GB of RAM, meaning it breezes past the Lenovo A7000 Turbo in this round.

Software

The Lenovo A7000 Turbo runs on Lollipop 5.1, and has Lenovo’s Vibe UI. The LeEco Le 1s runs on Android Lollipop 5.1, and has LeEco’s EUI 5.5.

Battery

The LeEco Le 1s has a 3000 battery (with quick charge). The Lenovo A7000 Turbo has a 2900 mAh battery which claims to provide up to 36 hours of or 750 hours of standby (network not known). This round is too close to call as there is only a 100 mAh difference.

Camera

The Lenovo A7000 Turbo has a 13 auto focus rear camera with Omnivision OV13850, 5 element lens and F2.0 aperture. There are two LED flash lights in its back panel too. For selfies, the Lenovo A7000 Turbo offers a 5 megapixel front camera.

The LeEco Le 1s also has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera.

On paper, this round is a draw, as both the phones have similar specs.

Connectivity

The LeEco Le 1s has two SIM slots – one for a micro SIM and the other for a nano SIM. It can accommodate two enabled SIMs at a time. The Le 1s offers WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Blutooth 4.1, GPS, WiFi Direct, and a 3.5 mm jack. The phone has a USB Type C port which acts as the MHL 2.0 port so you can connect it with a external monitor like compatible TV using this port. Besides, the phone offers Infra Red which should allow it to be used as a remote controller.

The Lenovo A7000 Turbo too has two SIM slots (4G+4G) and offers 4.1 LE as well as GPS. It though offers the older WiFi (b/g/n) version and a port with OTG functionality. It doesn’t have MHL port nor Infra Red.

Sensors

Both the phones offer Gravitation, Proximity, Light as well as E-Compass sensors. The Le 1s has additional fingerprint sensor.

Wrapping up

The LeEco Le 1s is the better looking phone, and it has the best from the MediaTek line-up, as well as 3 GB RAM. This alone makes us huge fans, as nothing else in this price bracket offers such serious hardware, not even the Lenovo K4 Note. Besides, Le 1s looks good in connectivity and has additional too. Only in terms of storage, Lenovo A7000 Turbo looks a bit better.
