Faceoff: LeEco Le 1s vs InFocus M680

Both LeEco Le 1s and InFocus M680 offer superb specs at very low price. So let's check out how they fare against each other

The recently launched LeEco Le 1s broke all records of flash sales in India with 70,000 phones gone in 2 seconds (as per LeEco). It saw similar response in its second flash sale during which, as per the company, 95,000 units got sold out in just few seconds. The tremendous response for LeEco Le 1s was expected as the phone offers superb features at Rs 10,999.

But it isn’t the only budget phone to come with high end features. Recently, InFocus M680 was launched in the Indian market for Rs 9,999 and this phone too is stuffed with lucrative features.

So let’s check out which one of these offers the maximum value for money.

Design

The LeEco Le 1s has a metal unibody while the InFocus M680 comes with a plastic back panel which has got metallic finishing. The M680’s side panels though are made of metal. So in terms of sturdiness, the Le 1s has an upper hand but the M680’s plastic body offers better grip.

The LeEco Le 1s measures 151.1 x 74.2 x 7.5 mm and weighs 169 grams. On the other hand, The InFocus M680 measures 156 x 76.8 x 7.25 mm and weighs 158 grams.

In our opinion both the phones look equally good but the Le 1s has slight with its metal body. Also the Le 1s has an additional fingerprint sensor. The Le 1s has a USB Type C port as compared to the port of InFocus M680. With the Type C port, the Le 1s promises faster charging but its downside is that you have to carry the charger along with you always. No such issue is there for M680 which can be charged by any USB charger. The Le 1s doesn’t have micro SD card either.

Display

Both the phones come with 5.5 inch IPS display with the same full resolution as well as 3. However, the Le 1s with additional Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection stays ahead of the InFocus M680 in this section as well.

Processor & Memory

The LeEco Le 1s is armed with the octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 Turbo processor, clocked at 2.2 GHz. The phone runs with 3 GB, and has 32 of internal storage (non-expandable).

The LeEco Le 1s is armed with MediaTek’s flagship processor which means it’ll come out ahead in any bench test or real world scenario; however it does lack external storage.

Software

The InFocus M680 runs on Lollipop 5.1, and has InFocus’ InLife 2.0. The LeEco Le 1s runs on Android Lollipop 5.1, and has LeEco’s EUI 5.5. Both the interfaces are quite simple and easy to use. However, the Le 1s does not offer FM radio as the M680.

Battery

The InFocus M680 too has a 2600 battery and it was impressive in the real world too. During our review, it used to offer 10-12 hours of back up with moderate usage which is quite impressive indeed. However the Le 1s has a bigger 3000 mAh battery. Also the LeEco smartphone comes with USB Type C charger and hence charges much faster.

Camera

The InFocus M680 has a 13 camera in both its front and rear panel. Both the cameras are of auto focus in nature and have f/2.2 as well as HDR feature. The LeEco Le 1s too has a 13 megapixel rear camera but it offers a 5 megapixel front camera.

Connectivity

The LeEco Le 1s has two card slots – one micro and one nano. The phone also offers connectivity, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), 4.1, GPS, WiFi Direct, WiFi Hotspot and an sensor that allows it to be used as a remote controller. Its USB Type C port can be used as an MHL port too.

The InFocus M680 too has two SIM card slots and it is compatible with 4G networks as well. Besides, it offers Bluetooth 4.1, (A-GPS), WiFi, and a micro USB port.

Wrapping up

The LeEco Le 1s certainly has much better features than the InFocus M680 in almost all departments. However note that it does not have expandable storage nor it offers FM Radio. If you are okay with these three issues, then the LeEco Le1s certainly be at the top of your handset list.
